The 2 biggest things that dissapointed me is the fact that only pvp titles seam to count and that all my effort finding great weapons in the previous 3 chapters is meaningless.

Why are only GW:EN weapons concidered for the Hall?????

Is a Crystaline that drops in GW:EN somehow better than one from FoW??

A Zodiac Shield from GW:EN vs one from the Deep??

Can Gaile or somebody please explain how this makes any sense?

It's obvious this game revolves around the pvp side so the pve people that work so hard to get maxed titles get a stab in the back when it comes to the hall of monuments. I mainly play 1 character which is my monk which has 14 maxed titles so far and more to go. But as far as putting them in the hall of monuments HA! Nope! Oh well, i was questioning myself about buying gw2 HA! nope!

First impression of HOM....

Well, during the preview event I managed to open up two of the shrines.

As my PvE character had spent forever getting as many green weapons from all the other campaigns, I opened up the weapons shrine first.. only to be informed that only high end EoTN weapons can be shown here.. EoTN is an expansion yet has more importance than the original game and sequals. This sucks.

Secondly, I opened up the armour shrine and to my horror when I placed my elite luxon mesmer armour down, the display on the shrine shows male and female necromancer armour. Great, all that time spent in PvE getting the specific armour I wanted to get, goes to no avail. I dont use male characters.. why show male armour? I dont have a necromancer, I have a mesmer.. why show necromancer armour on her shrine? This sucks.

The rest of the EoTN preview was simply breathtaking and superb but this HoM is the biggest let down I have ever seen in GW.

HoM is an embarassment and a disgrace as a reward for the efforts players have put into their characters...

EotN as it is, a very good game, I like it a lot. HoM as it is, a very rubbish part of the game, the guy behind it should be sleeping with the fish. Won't stop me from buying the game tho, I like bear and big woman you see. Shame really that there's no monkey in this game and the eagle is just a big chicken.

I don't often, of ever, bother to post criticising game features but I must admit the HoM was a huge disappointment.

There seems to be little or no reward for PvE titles like Survivor, Treasure Hunter/Wisdom, vanquisher, cartographer except for a tiny passage about the KoaBD title. I honestly don't want to be remembered by a title that's based on pop culture parody.

There's now no reward at all for Drunkard and Sweet Tooth and I personnally have stopped bothering with booze after 7000 minutes drunk.

The armours being non-specific to your character also is rotten. GWEN weapons only I can live with so long as alot of weapon skins are recycled in the expansion.

Customising mini-pets is annoying but bearable. I don't care about mini pigs and most other pets, but customising my Kuunie seems harsh.

Overall applying GW2 heritages only to characters of exactly the same name is woeful, I honestly thought the game accounts would be linked and any character would be able to spawn heritages so long as I had a character on GW with the max title.

Gutted. I'll still buy GWEN cause I thought it played really well, but I'll pray that they see sense and change the HoM.

I hate that idea as it implies that weapons found in EoTN are superior to ones found in Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall... if this is the case then all weapons from these games are obsolete as soon as EoTN is released.

They should "at least" allow greens to be shown here, from any of the campaigns.

I like the idea that the heritage can only be tied from one GW1 char to one GW2 char. That's fine with me, but I would like to see all of the chars in the account stuff displayed in the HoM to make it worth seeing.

It'll also needlessly complicate trading.

Assuming gold weapons from GW:EN are recognised in the HoM...

How can one distingiush between an Elemental Sword dropped in NF to one dropped in EotN?

This is totally confusing, since the hall of monuments is unique 'per character', this must mean that if you get lots of acheivements on each character, you must get more stuff in GW2 (which is the whole point of the hall of monuments). But how do they expect us to get lots of good acheivements on every character?

Is it worth it to work on every character, rather than just focus on one and get some 'legendary titles' or something? How is the 'link' between GW1 and GW2 going to work? I can't find any satisfying explainations around here...

I really don't even care about GW2. Getting a bonus there is not something I need or care about. I really wanted a place to show off all my green weapons and titles. Kind of a big library of stuff I have collected or achieved just to show me and my friends.

I can only say I HOPE the HoM wasn't quite ready - I do NOT want to see any toon other than ME in my HoM.

I can say too that having to get that ridiculous hero armor just to show heroes is mighty bad - people get drops all the time and I got exactly none. And what about Razah? Isn't he already in the only armor he can get? The HoM didn't take him.

GWEN is awesome, HoM, well, I hope it wasn't entirely working.

The only reason I collect mini's at the moment is because I have did everything that I've wanted to in all 3 campaigns until EotN is released. But if the mini becomes customized then isn't there the possibility of the mega rare ones becoming either obsolete or even more expensive because no one can buy them or use them except for their current owners? What about the mini roller beetle? Only 100 of them in the whole game, what happens if they all become customized?

so we cant use those heros once theire placed in the hall of monuments?

QFT! QFE!

HoM is the most asanine, insulting implementation of a "Loyal Customer" reward I have ever seen and a pathetic tie in to GW2 which most of the playerbase will not be able to take advantage of. What a waste of developer time.

IF ArenaNet want's to fix HoM they should do the following:
  • Pets: Flag pet to show it's been used in the hall (text in pets description to prevent ripoff sales). Pets are not customized and can be used by anyone then and yet they can only be used in hall once this way.
  • Titles: Any and all title levels should count not just max and not just pvp. You're displaying achievements your characters have made. It is irrelevant if those achievements are not oober maxed, they are still achievements.
  • Weapons: All high end weapons & maybe Greens should be shown from all campagins
  • Armor: High end is fine but get the display right. Warriors should not be showing off Necro armor and Mesmers should not see monk or whatever.
  • Heros: Show all unlocked heros regardless of "armor upgrades".
  • Tier the rewards as they show up in GW2 to take into account different level of titles and things.

worst. implementation. ever.

the hall of monuments looked like it would have so much promise.... now its just a big dissapointment. and oh yah i feel bad for the guy who lent his panda to a friend for his hall, and then found out it was customised for his friend.

After the shocking customization of my 4 high end mini pets I went directly to ANET asking them to remove the customization. As I stated previously they said no. This is my last correspondance to them. The one prior to this included a link to THIS petition. I am pleased to say I believe the GW community is being HEARD! But here is my last correspondance with them:

I would like to clarify something/ask a question too. This is exactly what the Devotion monument says when you go to customize a pet. I customized a Mini Pig this evening intentionally so I could clarify this. This is what the second prompt says:

"Miniature Pig will forever be marked as yours. No one else will ever be able to use this miniature. Are you sure you wish to proceed?"

Option 1
"Display Miniature Pig customizing it to you forever."
Option 2
"Think it over some more."

(btw there are not "several "are you sure?" style decision points" as GM ***** suggests, just one and it isn't very clear)

It says display mini pig customizing it to YOU forever. It does not say customizing to this CHARACTER for ever.
Customizing it to me makes me think my entire account.
It's mine to use and no one else can have it.

Also -- When obtaining quests in your quest log you use different colored text to alert you of certain criteria with the quest. For instance, if I needed a particular hero to accompany me on said quest it would show up GREEN. If the quest I was doing was a [Solo] quest it shows up RED warning me I am about to do a quest by myself. If a quest is very DIFFICULT it shows up RED [Master]. Why then would you not put something so permanent: "Display Miniature Pig customizing it to you forever." <--- IN RED text WARNING/ALERTING/ATTENTION so it could not be mistakenly missed?

Please note the link that I submitted previously is growing enormous very quickly and the original poster put a link on his message that stems to a Gaile Gray thread which also is ENORMOUS full of /signed fans saying please change it.

And that's what I have to say,
Thank you for your time,
Kristy

I am quite disappointed to report that with out further reply they closed the ticket and that is that. What does this mean exactly? Do they not care? They have had not much to say about anything as others have said. And here they just ignore me. Ah well. ANET staff if you're reading this. I will NOT purchase GW:EN -or- GW2 unless you do something about my customized mini pets. End of story. That's about $200.00 US dollars you will not be receiving from me OR my husband.

/signed!!!

Loviatar: Aren't you just a little bucket of sunshine?? I understand they are customized. MOST everyone hates HoM and the crap they are attempting to pull with it. MOST everyone wants to see changes made. I understand they are now customized. Now I want to see something like a hat trader. Where I can use ALL of my mini pets through out my account like I always have been able to.

News for you THEY are the developers and programmers
of the game. They can make ANYTHING happen.

All you have done is quote most everyone on this thread and find some way to flame them or bash them.

Don't you have something else better to do?? Like play your ANTI EPEEN game or go outside and play??

MOST players had all kinds of misconceptions in their head about HoM despite being WARNED that HoM was not 100% finished and that NO promises were made on how HoM would work exactly AND the fact you were WARNED that your minipet would be customized if you proceeded.

Next time, read before you click on Ok, dont blame other people for your own mistakes.
